Imagine every stereotype about Switzerland that you've ever heard. What comes to mind? Probably Swiss cheese, Swiss Miss hot chocolate, the Swiss Alps, Swiss Army Knives, and of course yodelers. I always have heard that stereotypes are rooted in truth and now I believe that thoroughly. It was almost laughable how many stereotyped Swiss things we saw in our 48 hours in Switzerland!
To say Switzerland was gorgeous would be like saying the ocean is big: a huge understatement. Above even the beauty factor though was the trusting people! I'm going to walk you through our 48 hours in Switzerland to give you a glimpse of the absolute incredibleness of this country.

We arrived in Switzerland and went to meet our friends, the Abdelkaders, for dinner and then to watch Justin Abdelkader play on the pro Swiss hockey team: EV Zug. Justin Abdelkader used to be a pro Red Wings player in Detroit! There my mom watched their son and became friends with them. She was very excited to see their little boys again! The game was especially exciting because another old Red Wings player, Filpula (one of my sister Lucy's favorites), was on the opposing team! It was a big game with EVZ coming out victorious!

The next day we went up Mount Pilatus into the Swiss Alps! We took a gondola straight up for about an hour, the mountains are huge! It was totally crazy; at the bottom we could only see green hills because the cloud were covering the majority of the mountains, so we were very underwhelmed. However, as we rode up and broke through the clouds, it was like we appeared in heaven on the other side! I almost don't even want to try to describe the beauty of Switzerland because I could never come anywhere close to truly portraying it. Let's just say that God is an incredible artist! My heart is filled just remembering the experience!

At the top of Mount Pilatus, we were happily overwhelmed by the Swiss elements. We sampled Swiss cheese, Swiss chocolate, more Swiss chocolate in the shape of an army knife, stared straight at the mountains that looked exactly like the old Swiss Miss label, and best of all as we walked outside...... a woman actually started spontaneously yodeling on the mountaintop!!! In the movies that always seems so funny and absurd, but in real life it was actually very beautiful and kind of moving in the setting. It wasn't at all like Mason Ramsey yodeling at Walmart, it was just the perfect way to complement the natural beauty of the mountains! Also in Switzerland you can order alcohol at 16 years old, so I ordered a mulled wine to share at the top! It was the perfect place to place my first order for an alcoholic drink!

We went out to breakfast on our final day where my mom accidentally ordered us ice cream with our waffles because the Swiss language was very hard!! Then we drove past Lake Zug and were amazed all over again at the gorgeous view!
Switzerland is easily the prettiest place I've ever been and is very close to being my favorite all around. It just doesn't get better than this!
