Ohio, the MASTERS, Georgia Beaches, and Easter! : Travel #11

How does that one song go? Oh yeah,"On the road again!!" And indeed we are! We are traveling from now until May, and we are moving fast! We've been busy meeting up with lots of friends and family along the way!

Ohio

Our first stop was to Hocking Hills, Ohio where we spent a week with our friends, the Bakers, exploring some incredible trails dotted with waterfalls along the way! The house we stayed in was so fun! We checked out caves, coffee shops, and beautiful rivers! Hocking Hills was truly gorgeous, and I highly recommend stopping to hike if you're going to be in the area!

South Carolina

After Ohio, we drove all the way down to Lexington, South Carolina where we spent a LOVELY two nights with our cousins while my parents, aunt, and uncle went and spent a day at the Masters Golf Tournament! My uncle has been in the lottery to get an opportunity to buy tickets for fifteen years, so this experience was a bucket list dream come true! They had an incredible time while us kids got to spend the day soaking up the Southern charm of South Carolina!

Our cousins kindly gave us a glimpse into the charmingly courteous and awesomely country south. Let me just say that the stereotypes of the south were just as fulfilled as the Swiss stereotypes were in Switzerland! We had biscuits for breakfast, all the people we met had the greatest accents, the only music played was country, we had a big Southern grilled dinner, and more! We had such a great time and all absolutely CANNOT wait to go back!

Georgia

After South Carolina, we headed to a week in Georgia staying on Tybee Island! We explored downtown Savannah where we went on a ghost tour. It was such an incredibly fun and haunting experience! The history is so rich and old in these East coast towns that it's no wonder they have so many ghost tours! Savannah was so so beautiful and one of my favorite towns we've visited so far! We stayed with cousins and grandparents for the rest of the week as we soaked up the hot Georgia sun and enjoyed each other's company!

North Carolina

Following Georgia, we stayed for two nights in the lovely state of North Carolina! We spent Easter there where my Dad and I went to Duke University Chapel in the morning for service! It was so beautiful! The chapel was gigantically huge, but still the pews were absolutely packed.

Everyone was sitting shoulder to shoulder praising God! How awesome is it to celebrate the day we were saved with believers all around the world? After church, we went to our other cousins house for a really nice evening of catching up and enjoying a delicious meal together! We checked out the North Carolina State Campus and the Duke Campus which was fun! Now when I pick Duke in March Madness I'll be able to picture the actual campus!

Thus ends the beginning of this leg of our travels! Continuing on we'll be moving just as fast all the way throughout May!
