On my best day....

Sometimes spirituality can seem confusing and Biblical instructions unclear. However other times they are actually super simple and easy to understand!

"On my best day I'm a child of God, and on my worst day I'm a child of God."

The simple and hard-hitting truth here is amazing. We all have good days. They're the days we look back on and remember fondly with a smile. They're the days when everything just seems to be going right and we're walking on sunshine. We also all have bad days. They're the days when it feels like the world's against us. They're the days when we regret our choices and let worry slip into our minds. On all of these days and every one in between, we are children of God! This is a simple truth that will never change.

I think since we hear that we are His children so frequently, we can easily get desensitized to the absolute beyond words incredibleness. There are thousands of religions to consider with people worshipping in many different ways dating back centuries, yet Christianity is the only one where the people are considered actual CHILDREN of the God that they worship. This changes everything! Becoming children of God means that:

  • we are now heirs to the rich inheritance of the kingdom of God

  • our relationship with God changes from ruler and subject to Father and child

  • we are a part of a permanent loving family no matter what

  • we are wanted and sought after just as a parent would seek after a child that they wanted to adopt.

John 1:12 says, "But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."

Being a child of God is a truth that is bigger than all of our obstacles in life. The literal maker of the universe calls you His child. Despite the chaos of our lives, we can rest assured that we are loved as His children no matter what happens.

Isaiah 54:10 sums it up pretty awesomely, " 'For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but my loving kindness will not be removed from you, nor will my covenant of peace be shaken' says the Lord who has compassion on you."

Disappearing mountains and quaking hills would be a pretty exemplary bad day, but even then our Father will love us like His children! How great is that??

The above quote in the image is from the song "I'm So Blessed" by Cain, and if you haven't listened to it before, stop whatever it is you're doing right now and listen to this amazing song!
